The Gallery at Avalon Island Presents Nashville’s Experimental Dark Folk Singer-Songwriter “Ariel Bui: Analog”, a multimedia exhibit presenting handmade album art, VHS video art, and a listening experience surrounding Ariel Bui’s all-analog, self-titled record. Produced at The Bomb Shelter in East Nashville by Grammy-nominated Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff), the album calls to be presented as a collaborative work of art. The art includes a handmade graphite and charcoal portrait by Dylan Lee Johnston, VHS video art by Mike Kluge, fashion stylings by Black By Maria Silver, typewritten lyrics by Ariel Bui, film photographs by Jonathan Rodgers, and individually hand-screen-printed LP jackets by Jessi Zazu and others.
Traveling from Nashville as a touring exhibit, “Ariel Bui: Analog” is to be hosted alongside a listening party and solo performance by Ariel who has been described by NPR’s Ann Powers as “a psychedelic cowgirl cool rockabilly queen” and by Nashville Scene’s Stephen Trageser as a “shape-shifting folk-psych-pop songsmith”.

The performance will begin at 7pm.
